CD Projekt Red has revealed that the first major expansion for Cyberpunk 2077’s retail mode, Phantom Liberty, had been released in September 2022. It’s the first major update after a string of free patches and content expansions. This one will stand out the most, and it’s possible that the latest Edgerunners patch will drop soon. All of these have been provided at no cost up until this point, but that might change.
The creator has verified that Phantom Liberty is a paid add-on. According to CDPR’s global PR director, neither the release date nor the price have been finalized at this time. But he assured me that everything will be settled without a doubt. He then went on to say that, unlike full-price games, their expansions would be significantly more reasonably priced. Which means that it’s safe to believe the pricing will be fair.
Phantom Liberty is going to be held in a part of Night City that hasn’t been discovered by the public until now. It’s being billed as a “spy-thriller,” and it will star Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand and the returning protagonist V. At this point in time, it is safe to estimate that it will be roughly the same size as one of the two premium add-ons to the store mode.
Phantom Liberty’s price, however, is likely to mirror that of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Blood and Wine. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Blood and Wine is currently available to watch for the low, low price of RM63.99.
